R.equi
The AGID test detects antibodies to Rhodococcus equi soluble proteins called "equi factors". On farms where R. equi pneumonia is a problem, we recommend testing foals monthly during the first 3-4 months of life. Seropositive foals should then be carefully monitored to permit early detection of R. equi disease. Serum samples are set up upon receipt and results are available by phone or fax in 24-48 hours.
EIA
Plasvacc has a USDA laboratory certified to perform the Coggins AGID tests for the detection of Equine Infectious Anemia. Results are available 24 hours after receipt of serum sample.
IgG
To determine Equine IgG levels our laboratory uses only a standardized radial immunodiffusion test, which gives a more accurate result than many of the semi-quantitative tests available. Results are available by phone or fax within 24 hours. This test requires a plasma sample.
